William B. Dobosy Sr.

William B. “Bill” Dobosy Sr., 85 of Gaylord, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Medilodge of Gaylord. Born in Mondlratnarm, Hungary on August 24, 1932, Bill was the son of Istvan and Anna (Vogt) Dobosy.

Bill served in the Hungarian Army during the Hungarian Revolution. In 1956, Bill came to the United States and lived here ever since. He worked as an Electrician for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. Bill enjoyed watching soccer and loved animals, especially dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doreen; children, Lori (Steve) Ferguson of Gaylord and Mary (Ken) Nowak of Menominee; grandsons, Mark Smith of Farmington Hills, Nicholas Nowak of Westland, Jonathon Nowak of Gaylord, William Dobosy III, Brian Dobosy both of Redford and Ken (Sheila) Nowak of Linden; granddaughter, Janelle (Brad) Balagna of Heartland and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, William Dobosy Jr.  and Robert Moss Jr.

A memorial service will take place 1:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the First Congregational Church in Gaylord. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Otsego County Animal Shelter or to Compasses Hospice.
