Verdell I. Gardner, 75 of Gaylord, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Born December 23, 1940 in Chicago, IL., Verdell was the son of Irvin and Bernice (Flanagan) Gardner.
He was a teamster for 42 years and was proud to be in the trucking profession. Upon retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the country on their Harleys and snowmobiles. He was a talented woodworker; he loved all the little children at church and especially the neighborhood kids, The Cavanaughs.
On May 12, 1989 he married the love of his life, Eva Voller who survives. Also surviving are his step-sons, Barry DePew of Flint and Brad DePew of Spokane, WA; his daughter, April Haugh of Tampa, FL; his son, Ray Gardner of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
