Timothy A. Hickey

Timothy Alan Hickey, aged 48, of Vanderbilt, MI, passed away at home surrounded by his family and pets on October 26, 2024. Born on March 1, 1976, Timothy led a life marked by dedication, humor, and generosity.

Tim honorably retired as an E7 SFC from the United States Army, having served from 1993 to 2014. His military career was distinguished by numerous deployments and assignments, including missions in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, and South Korea. It was in South Korea where he met his beloved wife, Adrienne. His service was recognized with several commendations, including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), and many more.

Following his military career, Tim found solace in golf, gaming with his daughter Hailey, shooting pool, darts, and fishing. These activities provided him with much-needed relaxation and peace.

Tim was a man of great character, known for his generosity and compassion. He delighted in buying Christmas gifts and giving them out early, bringing joy to those around him. He was also a loving "Papa" to his three grandchildren, Evelynn, Beckham, and Madelynn, and a caring dad to his dogs, Henry and Ollie.

He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Hickey; daughter, Hailey Philactos (Eugene); father, Jim Hickey (Ivana); mother, Joy Knox; siblings, Jeremiah Hickey, Michelle Rolette, Danae Vargas; and his cherished grandchildren, along with numerous other family members, friends, and pets. Timothy was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenny Knox, and mother-in-law, Cheryl Ryznar.

A private Celebration of Life will be held to honor Tim's memory. His life and service touched many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
