Thomas E. Rinas, 75 of Indian River, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.
Born in Detroit on October 11, 1939, Tom was the son of Harry and Fay (Manery) Rinas. He served in the U.S. Marines. Tom worked as a banker for Detroit Bank and Trust, National Bank of Southfield, and Comerica Bank. He worked as an Audit Officer and a Trust Officer for Manufacturers Bank. Tom was a member of the Straits Area Ostomy Association, and on the Board of Directors for the Camp Fire North Oakland Council. He loved to maintain Leisure Lane and Goose Lake Roads for neighbors and friends.
On October 8, 1966 in Detroit, he married Pamela Thomas. Also surviving is his daughter, Kimberly Ann (Jeffrey) Potts; grandsons, Alan Thomas Potts and Adam Hunter Potts all of Bloomfield Hills; sisters-in-law, Sandra Frauenheim of Lansing and Boots (Bob) Schmidt of Grand Rapids.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joseph Frauenheim and a special friend, “Pip.”
A memorial luncheon celebrating Tom's life will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Ruby Tuesdays in Gaylord. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Straits Area Ostomy Association P.O.
