Theressa E. "Tracy" Matts

Theressa E. “Tracy” Matts, 57 of Gaylord, passed away at home Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

Born in Grand Rapids on March 18, 1961, Tracy was the daughter of Ronald E. and Shirley J. (Hilliker) Buchholz.  At a young age, Tracy moved to Gaylord with her family and then to Vanderbilt in the late 1960’s.  She was a 1979 graduate of Vanderbilt High School.

After graduating from high school, Tracy worked as a dietary aide at Otsego Memorial Hospital.  After she was married, Tracy moved to California and a number of other locations with her husband who was in the military.  Four years ago she moved home to Vanderbilt and then Gaylord.  Since moving to Gaylord she worked at McDonald’s in the dining room.

In her spare time, Tracy enjoyed doing colored pencil drawings, spending time visiting with her neighbors and babysitting for them.

Tracy is survived by her daughters, Melissa (J.P.) Campana of Hawthorne, CA and Dawn (Stan) Anderson of Lancaster, CA; sisters, Mary (Don) Howard and Cathy Brink of Vanderbilt and Linda Knoch of Macon, GA; and several nieces and nephews.  She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild in September.

Tracy was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers, Steven Jenkinson in 1986 and David Jenkinson in 2015.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00-3:30 PM Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where a time of sharing will follow at 3:30 PM.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan.
