Terri Lynn Cwik, 68 of Gaylord, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Medilodge of Gaylord.
Born in Royal Oak on December 29, 1955, Terri was the daughter of Lou and Mable (Peters) Buvia. She grew up in Royal Oak where she graduated from Dondero High School.
On April 24, 1982, Terri and Michael Cwik were married in Hamtramck. They lived in Dearborn Heights and Clinton Township before moving to Gaylord in 2010.
Terri worked in healthcare for many years in Quality Assurance, at Wayne State University Oncology, Detroit Medical Center and Seaway Hospital in Trenton. She also worked at Ray Wiegand Nursery in Eastpointe. After she and Mike moved to Gaylord, Terri worked for Cottage Gardens in the nursery department at Home Depot.
Terri enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling, including to her favorite places, Gatlinburg, TN, Colonial Williamsburg, and the upper peninsula, especially Whitefish Point. Terri also enjoyed traveling with Mike to several U.S. Open Golf Tournaments and to NASCAR races around the country, and when she was younger she camped out on the infield at Michigan International Speedway races in Brooklyn, MI. Terri and Mike were 25-year season ticket holders for Detroit Redwings hockey and enjoyed attending most home games. She was recognized for her volunteer efforts in Gaylord when she received the Alpenfest Pam Duczkowski Unsung Hero award in 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Mable Buvia; and her brother, Larry Buvia. Surviving is Mike, her husband of almost 42 years; sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Ward of Royal Oak, and Brian (Barbara) Cwik of Marysville; a niece, Lauren (Michael) Kerner, their children, Addison, and Bradley; a nephew, David Cwik of Sleepy Hollow, NY, and a cousin, Glen (Rebecca) Peters.
In keeping with her wishes, at the present time her family will remember her privately. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions in her name to Gaylord Alpenfest or the Cwik Holly By Golly Fund at the Otsego Community Foundation.
