Susan K. ‘Sue’ Wojtkowiak, 77 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Born in Grayling on August 30, 1946, the daughter of Earl and Nettie (Hamlin) Traylor. Fifty-one years ago on October 7, 1972, she married the love of her life Thomas Wojtkowiak.
Susan took great pride in raising her four children and being at home with them during that time. She loved decorating for the holidays and making it feel special. She enjoyed fishing, crafting, baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, playing bingo, going to the casino, picking berries an taking care of her flower garden. Above all, she loved being with her family, close friends and spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Thomas, she is survived by her children, Rick Wojtkowiak, Michael (Missy) Wojtkowiak, Jamie (Alicia) Wojtkowiak and Christle (Gary) Wolf; sisters, Janet Traylor, Rula Traylor and Stella Johnson; grandchildren, Gwen Porter, Logan Wojtkowiak, Jenna Porter, Hudson Wojtkowiak, Emma Wojtkowiak and Walker Wolf; in-laws, Richard (Marie) Wojtkowiak, Patrica (Pete) Cherry, Barbara Wojtkowiak, Rita Butka, Sister Agnes Mary Wojtkowiak, Bernadine (Fred) Kilcline, Jane (Mike) Flinn and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Nettie; her brother, Robert Traylor and her sister, Helen Traylor; in-laws, Merry Ann Traylor, Richard Butka, Ralph Wojtkowiak, Donald and Kathryn Wojtkowiak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Mary Cathedral where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family, through the funeral home: P.O. Box 249, Gaylord MI 49734 to assist the family with funeral expenses or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
