Sie Meadows Jr

Sie Meadows Jr, 73 of Gaylord, died on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at home following a lengthy illness. Born on December 28, 1939 in Owosso, he was the son of Sie Meadows Sr. and Selma Cords. On March 17, 1962 Sie married Sandra Kay Jackson. For 32 years he worked in assembly for General Motors. When he retired in 1997 they moved from Ovid to Gaylord, where they had vacationed for years. Sie was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Owosso. He was a sports fan and a supporter of Michigan State University sports teams. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, the outdoors in general and he will be remembered by his family as a master tinkerer. In retirement he enjoyed volunteering his talents with the RSVP program in Otsego County. Sie enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by Sandra, his wife of 50 years; daughters, Linette (Donald) Cilla of Frederick, MD and Lisa Rollis of Lansing; a son Todd (Jacque Daniels) Meadows of St. Johns; grandchildren, Josh, Breanna, Derek, Corey and Zack; a great granddaughter, Kaitlin; and one brother, Al (Marie) Fowler of Corunna. He was preceded in death by sisters Frieda LePard, Ethel LePard and Ruth Fowler and brothers Bill Fowler, Richard Fowler, Ed Fowler and Dale DeFrenn. In keeping with his wishes, Sie’s family will celebrate his life with a summer gathering at Otsego Lake where he had vacationed and lived for many years. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions in his memory to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay through Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 N. Center Ave., P.O. Box 249, Gaylord, MI 49734
