On Friday, February 15, 2019, Sharon Lee Bozzer peacefully passed away comfortably in her own home. Sharon was born on October 6, 1936 in Highland Park, Michigan, the second child of Clair E. Snell and Elizabeth Jane Parker. Sharon graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955, and married her husband, Gino John Bozzer, in August, 1972. Sharon and Gino moved to the Gaylord, Michigan area shortly thereafter, in 1975. Gino was the owner and operator of Bozzer Brothers Inc., a family redi-mix concrete business, for almost thirty years. Sharon raised their four children, of whom she was fiercely protective. Sharon was an accomplished artist, a skilled painter who perfected a number of artistic mediums including oil, acrylic and water painting, drawing, and stained glass. Sharon enjoyed nature and the outdoors, was an avid horsewoman, loved her dogs, and was by far one of the best cooks around. Her pasta was simply legendary. Sharon lived her life on her own terms, was never afraid to speak her mind, was the strong center of the family, and would help anyone anytime. Sharon was generous and giving, often putting everyone else before herself. Even in her final days, her greatest concern was that her family be taken care of.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Clair and Elizabeth, her husband, Gino Bozzer, her older sister Patricia Mudge, her brother in law Earl Mudge, her nephew Steve Moir, her son-in-law Adam L. Wagar, and her beloved daughter, Kimberly T. Wagar-Hart.
Sharon is survived by her eldest daughter Michelle E. Glasgow (Brent Glasgow), her daughter Gina A. Bozzer (Chris Hayes), and her son, Daniel J. Bozzer (Shelly Slivinski), her son-in-law Ronald J. Hart, her grandchildren Logan Hart, Kylie Hart Flynn (Bill Flynn), Hannah Wagar, Jane Wagar, Nicholas Wagar, Logan Bozzer, Brooke Bozzer, Carter Bozzer, and Bryce Glasgow, her great grandchildren Brody Flynn and Nora Flynn, and her sister, Marlene Moir.
Sharon will be dearly missed. As per her wishes, in lieu of a funeral or flowers, she requested that those wishing to do so make donations in her name to a charity that both her, and her late daughter Kimberly T. Wagar-Hart, held in very high regard - Metavivor. Sharon was an advocate for Stage IV cancer research. Only 2-5% of funds raised in the name of breast cancer research to toward metastatic breast cancer, a disease that claims far too many women. However, 100% of the donations made to Metavivor go toward metastatic breast cancer research. The website for Metavivor is https://www.metavivor.org.
Sharon’s family would like to thank all of the physicians, nurses and aides of Otsego Memorial Hospital and the staff of Compassus Care – Christine, Mary, Rachel and Dee who took exceptional care of Sharon in her final days.
