Sandra K. “Sandy” Kuch, 65 of Gaylord, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017 surrounded by her family. Sandy was born on May 4, 1952 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Donald and Marilyn (VanEaton) Slater.
Sandy is often described as someone who had an "eye" for decorating or "crafty." She took this talent and she and her husband restored a local historical home. The old carriage house was soon transformed into a gift shop, the Mulberry House Country Attic. She loved being able to share her talents with the community. She helped with the Christmas Extreevaganza, decorating the church altar and making blumenkrantz. She was very involved in her church community and helping with youth activities when her children were younger. Sandy was always up for a good time and often led the fun.
When her health started to decline she sold her shop and she and her husband decided to enjoy traveling and being grandparents. She loved taking vacations with, "the gang" and playing nanny on trips with her children and grandchildren. Sandy threw herself into the role of Grandma, she loved babysitting them, taking the grandkids on adventures and watching them in their various activities. As the grandkids got older you would always find her phone in her hand so she could receive and send text messages to the grandkids, always keeping them in close contact. Her true joys in her life were her church, her family and friends.
Sandy is survived by Tom, her husband of 45 years; her three children, Jennifer (Jim) Jeffers of Gaylord, Greg (Sarah) Kuch of Highland Ranch, CO., and Lisa Held of St. Louis; her special grandchildren, Alexa, Kialee, Olivea, Reagen, Kinzie, Zachary, Brody, Lily, Kaylee, Madison, Ella, Ryan, Cody and Hadley; her mother and step-father, Marilyn and Lou Witting of Saginaw; her step-mother, Irene Tomlinson of Maryville, TN; her sisters and brother, Kathy Prall of Baycity, Mike Witting of Green Valley AZ, Karen Boldt of Gaylord and Karol Witting of Saginaw; many nieces and nephews; very dear close friends, Glen and Jeanne Catt, Rod & Carol Bloss, Jess and Ann Root and Sharon and Marcus Wegmeyer.
