Sandra "Sam" Marie Mankowski

Sandra “Sam” Marie Mankowski went home to be with Jesus on December 2nd, 2020.

Sam’s life may have been cut short, but she touched the hearts of many while she was with us.

Sam was born on June 9th, 1965 to Pearl and Milford Hough in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. During her childhood she called many places home, such as Gaylord, Flint and Rudyard.

In 1980 she met her former spouse Walter Feole at Rudyard High School. They soon married and settled down to call Gaylord home. Together they raised five beautiful sons.

She found joy and pride in life being a mother, and spent her years as a homemaker. She was known to everyone as “Mom” and took all kids she met under her wing.

In 2005 Sam found love in her lifelong friend Ralph Anthony Mankowski Jr. They were wed on August 20th, 2010. Over the years they created their own oasis, full of animals and flowers. They enjoyed anything that involved spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Sam is survived by her loving husband Ralph Mankowski of Gaylord; her mother Pearl of Sault Ste. Marie; cherished sons Michael(Kelsie) of Lewiston, Darryl(Hailey) of Gaylord, David(Celeste) of Gaylord, Steven(Jessica) of Gaylord, Brent(Meredith) of Gaylord and Austin of Toledo, OH; Siblings Archie(Rachelle) of Gaylord, Chuck of Auburn Hills, and Maggie(Brad) of Sault Ste. Marie; She is also survived by eight grandchildren that loved her so, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she cared for deeply.

Her family has chosen to remember her privately as she wished. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made in her memory to St. Judes as this organization held a special place in her heart.
