Sandra Jean Crandell, 49 of Vanderbilt, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Born in Gaylord on January 3, 1967, Sandra was the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Traylor) Crandell.  She grew up in Gaylord and was part of the Gaylord High School class of 1985.

A lifelong area resident, Sandy worked for many years in housekeeping at area motels, at Gaylord Kmart and the last 15 years as the manager of the Sara Lee Bread Store.

She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Bryson.  Sandy had a passion for bear hunting.  She was a member of the Top of Michigan Houndsman Association, the Blue Tick Breeders of America and the Blue Tick Breeders & Coonhound Association.

She is survived by her longtime partner, Ken Hitchcock of Vanderbilt; daughters, Ashley Lynne Stiles of Vanderbilt and Jessica Marie Stiles of Gaylord; her grandson, Bryson; a brother, Edward Crandell of Alpena; a sister, Cheryl Atkinson of Gaylord; and nieces and nephews, Andy (Necole), Adam (Gretchen), Jason (Kathy), Liz, and Sarah (Jeremiah).  She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 30, 2016.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
