Rose Ann Campbell, 81 of Indian River, Michigan, was called back to God Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the family home that she and her husband built.
Born on June 28, 1943, in Cheboygan, she was the daughter of Alex and Ethel (Boursaw) McCoy.
Rose worked many years in the food service department at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and for several years at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital.
She was a longtime member of Living Waters Methodist Church (formerly Indian River United Methodist Church). Rose was strong in her Christian faith, reading from her many bibles daily. Rose was also an avid reader and she enjoyed dancing.
Her first love was her family, with whom she enjoyed any opportunity to spend time. She was the pillar of her family, touching so many people’s lives. Her family and friends will long remember her contagious laugh.
Rose was proud of her Native American heritage and a proud member of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians. Seeing her family also involved in the tribe brought her joy
On January 16, 1962, Rose was married to Marvin L. Campbell, he preceded her in death on April 20, 2009. Surviving are her children, Gary (Carla) Campbell of Alanson, Marvin (Susan) Campbell of Due West, SC, Diane (Shawn Arnold) Patterson of Greer, SC, and Kimberly (Dean) Sems of Indian River; grandchildren, Nicole MacDonald, Amber Patterson, Dillon Arnold, Kristi Campbell, Amanda Sems, Matthew Campbell, Kasey Titus, Kayla Campbell, Kari Campbell, Kortnie Campbell, Collen Stow, and Jeramy Stow; and 34 great grandchildren.
One of five children, Rose was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles, Joseph, Mary, and Marie.
Rose’s family will remember her privately. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Living Waters Methodist Church in Indian River.
