Ronald R. Foeller, 68 of Alanson, passed away Thursday July 5, 2018 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. After a two year battle with kidney cancer, Ron decided it was finally time, as he would say, "to stop buying green bananas!" He passed away surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born March 10, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio and was the son of Chuck and Jeanne (Morrow) Foeller both of whom preceded him in death.
Ron is survived by his new bride, Ruth Music (married June 10, 2018), beloved son, Daniel (Raenna) Foeller; step-daughters, Lisa Patterson and Laurel (Chris) Burrows; three step-grandchildren and six of his biggest fans; his siblings, Pam (Roy) Flannery, Ric (Mary) Foeller, Pattie (John) Dunker, Donald (Linda) Foeller, John (Hami) Foeller and Jeanne (Greg) Fournier. Ron was dearly loved and idolized by dozens of cousins, nieces, nephews. His life was blessed with many dear friends, fans and dedicated customers.
Ron traveled the US as a drummer for several years in the band "This and That". When he reached Petoskey he knew that he had found home. He took a job at Preston Feather and eventually became their General Manager, a job he heldfor the next 30 years. After retirement he worked at Home Depot for another ten years.
Ron could sing a song so beautifully that lovers fell in love all over again. He enjoyed inprov acting with Murder Mysteries Inc. and the Little Traverse Bay Civic Theater. Firefighter fundraising events were a highlight for him as it gave him the opportunity to mix his love of music and stand up comedy. He was always prepared with a joke or a story to tell. His infectious enthusiasm was sure to leave his audience clamoring for more.
As Ron often said: "If God is watching us, the least we can do is be entertaining".
Ron often volunteered his time and talent to the following organizations:
Petoskey Home Builders - over 30 years
Petoskey and Harbor Springs Regional Chambers of Commerce
Petoskey Chamber Breakfast for Champions

To know Ron was to know his caring and considerate approach to every person he met. It's not difficult to understand why his son so lovingly called him a "people genius".
