Ronald Gene Huntley

Ronald G. Huntley, 74 of Elmira, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

Born in Lansing on April 16, 1944, Ron was the son of Elmer and Dorothy (Riggs) Huntley.

Ron worked in Boyne Falls at Matelski Lumber for many years.  He was a sports fan, especially enjoying Michigan State University sports and Detroit Tigers Baseball.  He also enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, bowling and playing cards.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.  Surviving are his children, Lorie Ann Neuman of Dimondale, Lisa Jo Norris of Eaton Rapids, Aaron Lee Huntley of Mason and Clare Riggs Huntley of East Jordan; a step daughter, Stephanie Figiel of Elmira and step son Victor Lecato of Belgium, Wisconsin; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Ron was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Sweet.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Ron's life will be held from 2:00-11:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10283 Deadman's Hill Road, Elmira, MI  49730.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Otsego County Animal Shelter.
