Ronald L. Moore

Ronald L. Moore, 75 of Alanson, passed away at home on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Born on March 15, 1948, in Petoskey, he was the son of Robert and Irma (Babcock) Moore. 

After graduating from Petoskey High School in 1966, Ron joined the United States Army, serving honorably for 14 years, until his 1980 discharge. Ron married the former Donna Freeman in Pflugerville, Texas on September 30, 1983.  In 1987 they moved to Alanson.  Since moving home to Michigan, Ron worked as a truck driver, primarily for Sysco Foods. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and playing golf.  He was an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan and enjoyed watching their games.

Donna preceded him in death on February 27, 2021.  Surviving are his children, Albert (Peggy) Moore of Indian River, Victoria (Mat) Skaggs of Alanson, and Michelle (Randy) Easterly of Austin, TX; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Sandra (Jerry) Russell of Levering; and brothers, Bryce Moore of Austin, TX, and Kirk Moore.

In addition to his wife, Donna, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irma Moore; a daughter, Katherine Moore; and brothers, Sidney, Ernest, Raymond, Terry, Richard, and Gerald Moore.

In keeping with his wishes, his family will remember him privately.
