Rollyn R. Llewellyn

Rollyn Robert Llewellyn, 92 of Walloon Lake, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at home, with his sons next to him. Born August 16, 1932, in Saginaw, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Vallett) Llewellyn.

In 1950, Rollyn graduated from Saginaw Arthur Hill. Immediately after high school, he went into the U.S. Navy for four years, serving in the Korean War. For most of his career, he worked in the constructions industry as a carpenter. He was part of building the first house on the point and Bay Harbor. In retirement, he and Georgie enjoyed camping and traveling all over the U.S. together. He was one of the original founders and lifetime member of the Northern Michigan Antique Flywheelers and a proud retiree of the Melrose Township Fire Department. 

He is survived by his three sons, Rollyn II of Troy, Mark of Petoskey and Tim (Gina) of Saginaw; a special daughter-in-law, Janice Danzer of Oxford; grandchildren, Rollyn III, Nicole, Mark II, Benjamin, Ava, Peytan, Ashley and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Rollyn IV, Luke, Alexis and Maverick; one brother, Thomas David of San Francisco, CA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgie Llewellyn in 2017; son, Daniel George in 2006; his parents; five siblings, Margaret, Elaine, Catherine Thomas and Caroline. 

A memorial graveside service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
