Roberta (Bobbi) G. Lawnichak, 87, a lifelong resident of Sparr, passed away February 27, 2020. Bobbi was born May 30, 1932 in Mackinaw City, she was the daughter of Orlo and Dorothy (Darling) Robinson.

Bobbi and her husband, Jim, built their life in Sparr and were astute business owners of the Dairy Queen and Our Place Steak and Ale. Bobbi had a real zest for life and was an avid fisherman, gardener, and loved to crochet.  At 87 years young, she continued to fish in the deep backwoods of Canada, garden, and mow her own grass.  Four days before she passed, one of her last joys was snowmobiling with her son, Mike.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She made and donated many baby hats and blankets for newborn babies at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Bobbi and Jim were greatly involved in the Red Cross where they traveled and assisted in aiding victims in 21 disasters including the Los Angeles earthquake and 9/11.

She is survived by children Dan Lawnichak, Robin Lawnichak, Kelly (Bruce) Lademan, Michael (Barb) Lawnichak, Hal (Anita) Lawnichak, and Heather Holleman; grandchildren, Adam (Janelle) Lawnichak, Cody (Jenna) Lawnichak, Austin (Alexendria) Lawnichak, Caylee Lawnichak, Matthew Murphy, Andrew  (Emily) Murphy, Amanda (Scott) Murphy, Josh and Mike Mikusko, Katie (Tim) Jordan, Chad (Roberta) Lawnichak, Tyler, Emily, Mykala and Jordan Holleman, Brian and Steven Lawnichak; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlo and Dorothy Robinson; sisters, Dixie and April Robinson; her loving husband of 53 years, James F. Lawnichak; son David Lawnichak and a daughter, Sherri Chipley.

The family has chosen to remember her privately. She will be buried next to her husband in the spring at the Lakeview Cemetery in Mackinaw City. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions that will go towards a memorial bench to be placed at her favorite spot in downtown Paradise, MI.
