Robert H. Walters, 92 of Gaylord, died on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born on July 4, 1921, Robert was the son of Adam and Ida Walters. A retired ironworker, he was a member of Ironworkers Local #25. Following the death of his wife Alice, Robert moved to Gaylord from Whitmore Lake several years ago. He will be remembered by his family for the enjoyment he found in “tinkering” in the garage and small engine repair. He also liked gardening and taking care of his yard along with boating and fishing. Robert is survived by his son, David (Lynda) Walters of Gaylord; daughters, Mary Kovatch of Lewiston and Alice (Donald) Snowden of Canton; grandchildren, Samantha Walters, Daniel Walters, Vicki Stanny, Sherry Franz, Laura North and Allen Snowden; great grandchildren, Max, Alex, Krystine, Jonathan, Andrew, Caroline, Nicholas, Alexandria and A.J.; great great grandchildren, Oliva and Sophia; and his sister-in-law, Bernice White. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Graveside services for Robert will be held at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Seniors Helping Seniors. Arrangements are by Gaylord Community Funeral Home, 850 North Center Avenue.
