Robert J. Miller

Robert J. Miller, 41 of Gaylord, passed away surrounded by family, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born in Cheboygan, MI on May 26, 1982.

 In 2001, Bob graduated from Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools. He loved going on family adventures, hikes, hunting for Petoskey stones, golfing, and fishing. Bob was gifted with his hands. He was passionate about cooking, he enjoyed building things and working on cars. He was intrigued with learning about all world history with an emphasis of WWII. Most importantly, his greatest pride and joy was his family and being a father to 3 amazing children. Extending that family passion led to 5 years as a foster parent. 

 He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Michelle (Priestley); two daughters, Alayna and Aurora; their son, Skyler (Natalie) Strach; his sister and best friend Angel and her daughter Cadense Styburski, Matt (Hayley) Miller, Tommy Miller, William Miller and Donna Vanier; several nieces and nephews and many wonderful extended family and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Tommy Miller; his brother, Aaron Miller and his bestest buddy, Taz Dogg.   

 A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Gaylord E-Free Church, where the family will visit with friends beginning at 9:00 AM.  Those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team attire, or maize and blue in honor of Bob’s favorite team, The University of Michigan.

The family would like to give a very special heart filled thanks to his guardian nurses at Munson Medical Center. Sarah and Hannah specifically, but also to the countless staff who worked tirelessly to make him as comfortable as possible. We are forever grateful.
