Robert J. Lindsteadt

Robert J. “Bob” Lindsteadt, 82 of Gaylord, died at Otsego Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 7, 2014. To his wife, JoAnn, whom he married in Gaylord on June 20, 1998, Bob was the “love of her life”.

Born in Grosse Pointe Farms on March 21, 1932, he was the son of Walter and Florence (Fries) Lindsteadt. He was raised in Michigan and lived for 25 years in California. In the late 1970’s Bob returned to Michigan and settled in Gaylord.

A skilled auto mechanic, he owned and operated “The Auto Place by Lindsteadt” in Gaylord for many years before retiring in 2008. For several years Bob also worked at ABC Warehouse in Gaylord. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as playing golf and card games.

In addition to his wife, JoAnn, Bob is survived by his daughter, Robin Joy Mayer of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; granddaughters, Lt. Jennifer Franco, USN and Heather Miller as well as great grandchildren, Jayde, Gavin and Kaylee. He is also survived by JoAnn’s family and his many friends.

Bob’s family will gather with friends from 2:00-4:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue, where services will follow at 4:00 PM. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to his family.
