Richard Lee Andress, 72 of Lewiston, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born in Flint on September, 26, 1946, Richard was the son of Carl and Alice (Colson) Andress. The family lived several years in Metamora and Richard was a graduate of Lapeer High School.
After high school, he attended college for a time before joining the United States Army. When he returned home he went to work in the banking industry, a position he held for several years. Later, he moved to California where he lived for many years. Working in several different occupations, Richard eventually became a limousine driver, working for one of the largest limousine services in the San Diego area. For health reasons, he later moved back to Michigan, settling in Lewiston to be near his family.
Richard was an avid fan of University of Michigan sports, Detroit Tiger baseball and San Diego Chargers football. He enjoyed his years in California, where he loved to spend time at the beach. His family will remember his sense of humor and his love of a good laugh.
Surviving are his sister-in-law, Loretta Andress of Lewiston; nieces and nephews, Gary Weingartz, Carl Weingartz, Ann (Manuel) Guerrero, Teresa (Roy) Garcia, Linda (Craig) Greening, Sharon (Keith Eversole) O’Dell and Colleen (Garry) Miller; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
