Richard A. Foster, 58, died peacefully January 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving friend Mia, his brother, sister and their spouses. Rich was born in Muskegon, September 23, 1959, preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Margaret Foster. He graduated from both Orchard View High School and Muskegon Community College, working in food service in restaurants, hospitals and nursing homes throughout his life. He was an encourager, listener, and father figure to the many family members, co-workers and friends he met along the way. Rich loved Mia and family above all else. His relationship with Mia made the last two years of his life his happiest years. His ten year relationship with the people of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Holland, was a source of strength and growth in the faith that ultimately sustained him. He loved to read, write poetry, spend time with family, and fish at the family cabin near Bristol.
Rich is survived by: the love of his life, Mia Cellura Addes; sister Kelly (Christopher) Morris, Charlevoix; brother Jim (Sandy) Foster, Otsego; nephews Adam (Erin) and Phil (Katie) Morris, Ben and Jared (Sheena) Foster; a grandniece grandnephew, and numerous cousins.
Rich’s memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3990 112th Avenue, Holland, Michigan, 49424 on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Visitation will begin at 11:00 Am followed by a memorial service at 12:00 Noon. A luncheon will follow the service. Good Shepherd’s pastor, Rev. Jessica Rivera-Walker, will preside; Rich’s brother, Rev. Jim Foster, will assist and preach. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3990 N. 112th Avenue, Holland, MI 49424.
