Richard A. Piehl

Richard A. Piehl, 58 of Gaylord, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

A lifelong Gaylord resident, he was born in Gaylord on November 27, 1956, the son of Raymond and Dorothy Piehl. Richard was a 1975 graduate of Gaylord High School.

He worked as a truck driver delivering for Wickes Lumber, then as a security guard at Georgia Pacific for several years. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding and small engine repair. Richard loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lucinda “Cindy” Piehl; his children, Christopher (Kendra) Piehl of Bridgeport, OH, Chad (Farah) Piehl and Nicole (Chris Poll) Piehl both of Gaylord; grandchildren, Ariviera, Shelby, Ethan, Mariah, Alexis, Lavett, Logan, Addyson, Colt and Wyatt; sisters, Susan Perrin of Bowling Green, KY, Elaine Warden of Gaylord and Melody (Mike) Hopkins of Florida; brothers, John (Sherrie) Piehl of Gaylord and David (Kathy) Piehl of Grayling; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and by sisters, Marie Clear, Ruth Toth and Margaret Piehl.
