Richard P. Knoch Sr

Richard P. Knoch Sr., 87 of Elmira passed away at home on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Born in Manton on August 1, 1927, Richard was the son of Clarence and Pheobe (Jones) Knoch.

Dick served honorably in the Army with three years of active duty service along with fighting for his country in WWII. He attended Alpine Village Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of The Gaylord Eagles and the VFW in Alabama and Central Lake.

He is survived by his children, Flossie (Herbert) Combs of Owosso, Richard (Cathy) Knoch of Gulf Shore, AL, Jackie (Les) Brown of Elmira, Bonnie Bates of Toledo, OH, Sandy Gizzel of Toledo, OH, Wendy (Wayne) Lee of Georgia and David (Theresa) Knoch of Central Lake; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Walter Knoch of Cedar Springs; and his sister, Marion Dunham of Highland.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernidine in 2003; grandson, Adam Baldwin; granddaughter, Jaylene Westphal; brothers and sisters.

A memorial service celebrating Dick’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Alpine Village Baptist Church, 158 North Townline Road, Gaylord with Timmy Westphal officiating. In lieu of flowers the donations may be made to the Knoch family through Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, P.O. Box 249, Gaylord, MI 49734.
