Rand A. Goodman

Rand Alan Goodman, age 68, of Petoskey, passed away on October 3, 2018 at Bay Bluffs in Harbor Springs where he was cared for expertly and lovingly during the last few weeks of his life. Randy was born in 1949 to his parents, the late Dale and Shirley (Gushen) Goodman.

He was a four season athlete at Haslett High School and graduated there in 1967, continuing a football career at Olivet College and graduating from there in 1971. A lifelong entrepreneur, Goodman owned businesses in a variety of fields including retail, oil and gas investments, importing, and product research and development. Goodman was a dog lover and also passionate about his longtime career as the ultimate soccer dad. He was a caring father and extremely proud of all of his children.

Randy is survived by his devoted wife and companion of nearly 50 years, Becky Goodman; his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, Sarah, Mike, and Sofia Peluso, Auburn Hills; daughter Beth Goodman and her partner Jon Ochoa, Pontiac; son, daughter-in-law, and grandson Brent (BJ), Alli, and  Owen Goodman, Waterford; brother Gary Goodman of Saginaw; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog Charlie.
