Ralph A. Crandall, 86 of Gaylord and formerly of Napoleon, passed away at home on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Born in Grand Rapids on February 5, 1929, Ralph was the son of Wilmer and Madge (Willey) Crandall.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Crandall of Jackson, Sally (Bud) Ohlerich of Grand Blanc, Jill (David) Falther of Gaylord, Jean (John) Lowe of Jackson; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Valerie Walker, Bonnie Blanton and Joyce Schultz; as well as his beloved dog, Goldie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of sixty one years, Suzanne.
Ralph served honorably in the U.S. Navy with four years of active duty service. A dedicated, hardworking husband and father, he owned and operated C-gull tool sales for several years in Jackson. He moved to Gaylord in 2002 where he enjoyed living on Perch Lake. A woodworker at heart and a great provider for his family. He enjoyed going up to the U.P. as he was involved in the National Audubon Society.
A Memorial Gathering and luncheon for Ralph will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at BJ’s Restaurant. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Otsego County Animal Shelter or the National Audubon Society.
