Pamela S. (Berlin) Duczkowski, 55 of Gaylord, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Otsego Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Charles and Patty (Daglow) Berlin, Pam was born on May 24, 1962 in Hillsdale, where the family lived until moving to Gaylord in 1971. Pam went on to graduate from Gaylord High School in 1980.
On April 29, 1989 Pam married her husband, Jan Duczkowski at the E-Free Church in Gaylord.
She spent several years working for Glen’s Market in Gaylord before joining the Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce as the Special Events Coordinator. In that capacity she was very active in organizing many community events. Alpenfest was a special and busy time of year for Pam. Later she moved over to the Gaylord Visitor and Tourism Bureau where she had been the Assistant Director for several years.
Pam was very active and well known in the Gaylord community. She was currently a member of the Gaylord City Council where she will be remembered for her knowledge of the city’s business and for her ability to make up her own mind.
She had a love for the Otsego County Historical Society where she was a longtime board member. Until recently, she was board president.
She was proud of her family and loved spending time with them. In her spare time Pam also enjoyed cooking, baking, travel, photography and gardening.
She is survived by Jan, her husband of 28 years; her children, David J. Duczkowski of Gaylord and Katherine (Cal Sundberg) Duczkowski of Waco, TX; her parents, Charles and Patty Berlin of Gaylord; her sister, Lisa (Bryan) Hilbert of Phoenix, AZ; her brother, Brad (Dee Dee) Berlin of Gaylord; a niece, Audrey Hathaway; a nephew, Colin Berlin; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and her fur baby, Scout. She was especially close to her cousin and “surrogate sister”, Dawn McClellan of Mesa, AZ.
A service to celebrate Pam’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Gaylord First United Methodist Church where the family will visit with friends beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Otsego County Historical Society.
