Pamela Jean Welsh, 77 of Johannesburg, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital.
Born in Defiance, Ohio, Pam was the daughter of Leighton and Mildred (Keezer) Dull.
Pam and the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Welsh were married in Johannesburg on August 7, 1965, after he returned from serving in the United States Army. They raised their family and spent their life together in Johannesburg.
Both Bob and Pam were staples of the Johannesburg community. Pam was a strong woman of faith and a longtime active member of the Johannesburg Christian Church and a longtime volunteer at it’s Giving Tree Food Pantry and Vacation Bible School. She also gave countless hours to Coats for Kids, the Angel Tree, and many other organizations. She could always be found helping with funeral dinners and the many other community events that needed her cooking skills. She enjoyed cooking and canning, usually giving away the things she made to others. Pam also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her friends in the Gab Girls group in Johannesburg.
Pam had a giving spirit and heart, she was the type of person who would give to or do anything for anyone, regardless of what they could do for her in return, inspiring and guiding others through her giving hands. No one who knew her will forget her infectious passion for helping others.
Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on May 18, 2019. She lived her life for her family that she leaves behind, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Alice (Phil) Cook of Hillman and Edward (Kris Koronka) Welsh of Johannesburg; her grandchildren, Kelly Welsh, Lance Welsh, Lindsey (Ben) Martinez, Abby Reinsmith, Ernest (Brittany) Hartzell, Tyler Hartzell, Melodee Hartzell, Raelynn Hartzell, Brittany (Jason) Sopha, Jackie Kiernan, Marissa Berghorst, Meghan (Jeff) Osterbaan, and Nicole (Ben) Wiers; great grandchildren, Brooks, Everett, Zander, Landen, Rayden, Saylor, Beckett, Benson, Mila, Andrew, Alivia, Jack, Mason, Rome, Willow, and Piper; a sister, Lee Proctor; a brother, Richard (Nancy) Dull; sisters-in-law, Mariann Welsh and Rhonda Dull; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leighton Dull; sisters-in-law, Beth Goff, Sarah Welsh, Alma Welsh, and Donna Welsh; brothers-in-law, Robert Proctor, Melvin Welsh, Vernon Welsh, Richard Welsh, and Don Goff; and a granddaughter, Allyssa Mischley.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Gaylord E-Free Church with Pastor Tim Thompson from Johannesburg Christian Church officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM at the Church.
