Nina Marie Treece, 84 of Gaylord, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at McReynolds Hall.

Born in Elmira on June 14, 1933, Nina was the daughter of Thomas and Frankie (Rhodes) Muma.

A lifelong area resident, she had done work on a potato farm, at Central Printing, at Big Boy Restaurant and at a bar in Bellaire.  She was an avid reader who also enjoyed puzzles.  In earlier years she also enjoyed ice fishing and hunting.

On December 31, 1949 Nina married Dean Treece Sr. in Boyne City.  He preceded her in death on March 22, 2002.

Surviving are her children, Linda Gault of Elmira, June (Walt Schumaker) Nelson of Lupton, Willadeen (Dan Janicki) Barraw of Waters, Sara (Ken) Kowatch of Gaylord and Delbert Treece of Wolverine; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren with another on the way.  Also surviving are sisters, Judy (Lloyd) McPherson of East Jordan and Viola Davis of Elmira; brothers in law, Ron Florenski of Alba and Jack Sevenski of Elmira; a sister in law, Jeanette Muma of East Jordan and numerous other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dean Treece Jr.; a son in law, Jimmie Nelson; grandsons, Joseph Barraw Jr. and Kevin “Zach” Dunham; sisters, Clara Wingo, Alberta Treece, Lula Bell Sevenski and Edna Florenski; brothers, Willard and James Muma and brothers in law, George Davis and Bill Treece.

Nina’s family will hold a memorial gathering at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Elmira Township Hall.  Iinterment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Elmira.
