Nathaniel J. Kowatch

Nathaniel Jeffrey “Nate” Kowatch, 38 of Gaylord, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 7, 2017.

Born in Gaylord on June 3, 1979, Nate was the son of Jeffrey and Sherri (Cardinal) Kowatch.

A 1997 graduate of Gaylord High School, Nate went on to work for several years with his dad at Kowatch Builders & Developers.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially liked Dale Earnhardt Jr.  He enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing, especially in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  Nate loved his Golden Retrievers, Riley and Charles.  He will be remembered for the good natured man that he was, rarely complaining about his situation even when faced with a debilitating disease.

Nate was preceded in death by his mom, Sherri.  Surviving are his father, Jeffrey (Julie) Kowatch of Grand Rapids; his sister, Nicole Kowatch; his niece, Kelsey Pallas; and his nephew, Brennan Pallas.  Nate was especially close to his aunt, Sara (Ken) Kowatch of Gaylord; and he is also survived by several other aunts, uncles and cousins and many close friends.

Visitation and a time to share memories will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2017 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service.  A celebration of his life will be held from 2:00-6:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Gaylord Eagles Hall.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Otsego County Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are by Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service.  Please share your memories and personal messages with the family at www.gaylordfuneralhome.com
