Mitchell David Quaine

Mitchell David Quaine, 70 of Alanson, passed away at home with his family on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 1, 1952, he was the son of Bert J. and Donna (Sokcevik) Quaine.

After graduating from Detroit Catholic Central High School, Mitch went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Lawrence Technological University. 

Mitch had a long career as an internal auditor with several corporations including IBM, Kmart, Sears Holdings and Lowes, retiring in 2016.  He was also a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the Milford Fire Department.  Mitch was a member of MENSA and enjoyed cooking and boating.

On August 24, 1973, Mitch was married to Janet Dombrowski in Dearborn Heights.  They raised their family and lived many years in Milford.  In 2001 they built what would become their retirement home on Pickerel Lake in Alanson where he enjoyed spending as much time as he could, moving there when he retired in 2016.

He is survived by Janet, his wife of almost 50 years; his children, Sean (Kelly) Quaine of Fort Mill, SC, and Lindsey (Michael) Quaine-McConnell of Appleton, WI; and grandchildren, Brady Quaine, Carson Quaine, Mitchell McConnell, and Logan McConnell.  Also surviving are his brothers, Kirby Craw, David Craw, Larry (Robyn) Robison and Jack (Debbie) Perinello; brothers-in-law, Michael (Darcy) Dombrowski and Robert (Diana) Dombrowski; a sister-in-law, Jeri Craw; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Cross in the Woods Catholic Church in Indian River where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM.
