Michelle Windsor, of Cheboygan, Michigan, left this world on May 13, 2022 at the age of 67. She passed away in her home with her husband of 39 years at her side.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Richard Omey. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dan, and their five children, James and his wife Jill, Tina and her husband Sean, David, Dan “Danny”, and Norman and his girlfriend Kasi, and her four grandchildren James “Jamie” and his wife Kerstine, Cameron and his girl friend Arielle, Mercedes “Max”, and Martin, and her two great grandchildren Roman and Gannon, and her fur babies Bear, Punkin, Peanut, Boop, and Gladys. She will be missed by all the kids she had become a second mom to and numerous friends collected over the years of her life.
Michelle was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived in several cities across many states. Michelle and Dan moved from Tawas to Cheboygan in the 80’s with a wild notion of becoming farmers. With no prior knowledge of farming, they bought a plot of land and learned to garden, raised pigs, and chickens. She never did get around to getting herself that cow.
She had been an EMT and Paramedic and had saved many lives during that career. She had even saved the life of her one of her own grand children at only one week old. She and her husband had opened a bakery in North Carolina through which they brought the joys of Michigan pasties!
Michelle loved nature, animals, learning new things, but above all, she loved her family. She overcame a dysfunctional childhood and raised her children to be strong, independent, and loving adults. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren are her legacy. Michelle will live on in their memories and stories. Michelle was a wonderful mom, an amazing grandmother, and she was a legendary great grandmother. “GG” will always be remembered.
A celebration of Michelle’s life will be held at the family home, 7020 Tillhorn Road, Cheboygan, MI from 3:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2022.
