Michael P. Blanzy

Michael P. Blanzy, 55 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Born August 16, 1960 in Oakland, he was the son of Conrad and Joan (Keefe) Blanzy.

Mike and his wife, Barb owned and operated Stream Spray Irrigation for 25 years. He was proud of the business he built and enjoyed his customers throughout the years. During Stream Spray Irrigation’s off season, he worked at Treetops Resort. He filled many positions over the years, but was passionate about ski patrol. For over 15 years he worked for Gaylord Community Schools as a bus driver. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, working on his yard and watching sports. Most of all, his pride and joy was his family. His grandsons, Maxon and Brody would light up the room, especially during the very difficult days as Mike was getting weaker.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Muzyl, whom he married on July 13, 1985 in Gaylord. Also surviving are his two children, Heather (Joshua) Ritola of Interlochen, Gustov Blanzy and his girlfriend, Pamela Lawrence both of Gaylord; two very special grandsons, Maxon and Brody Ritola; his mother, Joan Blanzy of Gaylord; his brother, James Blanzy of Gaylord; his sisters, Mary Billman of Kentwood, Rose Love of DeWitt and Catherine Muzyl of Gaylord.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family will visit with friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where a vigil and sharing time will begin at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 from St. Mary Cathedral. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday at the church.
