Michael J Ashton

Michael J. Ashton, 68, of Grayling, died at home on Sunday, December 30, 2012. Born in Detroit on October 25, 1944, Mike was the son of Martin and Eileen (McTaggart) Ashton. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked for many years as a boiler operator at Ford Motor Company. After retiring, he moved to Northern Michigan, an area he always loved. Mike enjoyed his retirement in the north and was a member of Four Squares Church in Mio. He is survived by his children, Tracy L. Harvell of Clare and Todd J. (Shanna) Ashton of Bismarck, MO; and grandchildren Brooke and Seth Harvell and Zachary Ashton. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorial services for Mike will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Mio Foursquares Church, 825 East Miller Road, Mio, MI 48647. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
