Merwin R. "Bud" Joy

Merwin R. “Bud” Joy, 69 of Cheboygan, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Born on March 4, 1947 in Benton Harbor, Bud was the son of Glenn and Esther (Crawford) Joy.

Bud was a truck driver for 20 years and enjoyed what he did for a living. He loved to study the Word of God and was very involved with his church, Life Worship Center. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Bud and his wife, Kathryn were married on September 18, 1965. He is survived by his wife; his children, Lori Joy, Glen (Belinda) Joy and Kimberly Joy; his sister, Christine Wadley; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a very special cousin, Joyce O’Connor.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Joy; his sister, Patricia Crockett and his parents.

Graveside services will take place 11:00 AM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Cheboygan. A Celebration of Life Service will take place 12:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Life Worship Center, 901 W. VFW Road, Cheboygan (the old VFW building).
