Merlin J. Beers, 78 of Gaylord, passed away at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital. Born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 16, 1943, he was the son of Chester and Margaret (Chard) Beers.
On October 4, 1963, Merlin married the love of his life, Judy Havens. Since then, they have been inseparable. They created a wonderful life together, raising two sons, owning and operating multiple businesses and living in numerous communities. For 28 years he worked at Pontiac Motors. He was involved in Boy Scouts, loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He always found the railroad track to be fascinating and enjoyed sitting on the patio with Judy watching the trains go by. He was an incredible husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of 58 years; two sons, Frederick Beers of Indianapolis, IN and James (Michelle Gaskins) Beers of Gaylord; three special grandchildren, Anna, Riley and Judy; his great grandson, Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Norbert, Glenn and John.
