Meredith A. Brown, 71 of Gaylord, died on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Tendercare of Gaylord surrounded by her family. Born on July 30, 1941 in Marysville, MI, Meredith was the daughter of Lloyd and Irene (Ruggeri) Rutkofske. She was a 1959 graduate of Marysville High School. On December 3, 1960 she married William S. Brown in Port Huron. Over the years, Meredith held various positions outside the home, none more important than being a mother to her three children. She was a Davison resident for many years, moving to Gaylord in 1998. Meredith enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing the organ as well as several outdoor activities including camping snowmobiling and boating. She is survived by Bill, her husband of 52 years; her three children, Thomas A. (Mickey) Brown of Gaylord, Rebecca L. (Robert) MacDonald of Frederic and Scott A. (Debbie) Brown of Davison; grandchildren, Tracie, Jason, Jeremy, T.J., Breanne, Scottie, Jessica, Justin and Brandon; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Nancy (Curt) DeLong of Marysville and Mary Lou (Chuck) Houghton of Algonac; a brother, Bud Rutkofske of Marysville and her step father, Irvin Osentoski of Marysville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Rutkofske. Funeral services for Meredith will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue with Pastor Allen Ballard officiating. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon on Tuesday.
