Mary M. Medick

Mary Mabel Medick, 73 of Gaylord, Michigan passed away Saturday, May 14th, 2016. Formerly a resident of Rome, New York where she worked as a taxi driver for over 40 years. Mabel moved to Michigan to be with her family in 2012.

Mabel was best described as strong, energetic, and full of love for others. She attended Church at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rome every Sunday, and had a strong devotion to our Lord. She loved horses, cars, and no matter her age she looked forward to tackling new adventures. She enjoyed attending the Alpenfest, and cherished trips to Indian River’s Cross in the Woods. Mabel also loved spending time with the kids, where her warm heart and patience truly shined. Mabel’s best friend was her great great Niece Zaelyn who is only 5 years old. They were inseparable…

Mabel is survived by her Sisters Clara (Ann) Beers, Helen News, & Sheila Bastedo. Her Niece Charissa (Mathew) Matewicz. Two Great Nieces Bianca (Adam) Valentine & Sabrah Smith. 1 great great niece, Zaelyn Valentine, and 2 great great nephews Ryott Morales, and Xander Holm. She was predeceased by her Mother And Father William Bastedo, and Mary Stack. Her siblings, Candy Bastedo, William Bastedo, Sarah Bastedo, and her beloved nephew Lance Beers.

Family has chosen to keep memorial services private at this time. Cards and/or Condolences may be sent to the Gaylord Community Funeral home in the name of her sister, Ann Beers.

We appreciate Dr. Mee of OMH and the wonderful staff at McReynolds Hall that took such exceptional care of our beloved Mabel! You will forever hold a special place in our hearts!
