Mary J. Benz

Mary J. Benz, 74 of Elmira passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at home. She was born on July 9, 1944 in Elmira at her family’s farm house, the daughter of Carleton and Stella (Simon) Brooks.

Mary lived in Elmira all of her life. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, camping and fishing. She loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her husband Ron of 53 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Brenda Benz of Elmira; brothers, John Brooks of Kalkaska and Fred Brooks of Traverse City; sister, Nancy (Tom) Long of Gaylord; brother in law, Don (Jane) Benz of East Jordan; grandchildren, Morgan and Amy Weatherwax and McKenzie and Madeline Sims and her special dog, Polly.
