Mary B. Holmes, 92 of Lewiston, passed away at home on Friday, December 9, 2016.
Born in Green Bay, WI on April 15, 1924, Mary was the daughter of Henry and Anna Peters. When she was eight years old, her family moved to the Detroit area where Mary went to school. She also lived in Warren for many years before moving to Lewiston in 1977.
Mary worked in Wonder Bread in Detroit and Elias Brothers Big Boy in Warren. After moving to Lewiston, she became active as a member of the Lioness Club and she was a founding member of Community Sharing. She was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston and a member of the women’s guild.
Mary was preceded in death by her former husband Robert Peterson and her husband, Kenneth Adler. Surviving are her children, Mary (Jerome) Sargent of Lewiston, Jamie (Sue) Adler of Buckley, Keith Adler of Lewiston, Athleyne (Thomas) Bachorski of Warren and John (Debra) Adler of Lapeer; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by children, Charles Peterson, Judy Peterson and Robert Peterson; and siblings, Dorothy, Edward, Phyllis and Patricia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord where visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the church or to the charity of your choice.
