Mary J. LaLonde

Mary Joan “Mary Jo” LaLonde, 92 of Gaylord, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at The Brook. Born in Detroit on March 25, 1930, she was the daughter of Arthur and Vivian (Willet) Mudge.

She married Willard on July 2, 1949, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Detroit. They built a beautiful life together, being married for 71 years. Mary Jo was an avid cook, enjoyed baking, sewing and crafts. She loved to go square dancing with Willard and spending winters in Texas. She cherished her husband, children, and family dearly. Her faith was very important to her as she was involved in her parish.

She is survived by her five children, Denise Barry of Plymouth, Michael (Rose) LaLonde of Vanderbilt, Dale (Linda) LaLonde of Garden City, Dennis (Debbie) LaLonde of Howell and Christine (Marty) Harger of Plainwell; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard in 2021; son-in-law, Tom Barry and her granddaughter, Susan Denise Barry in 1993.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston, where visitation will take place beginning at 10:00 AM and reciting of the Rosary at 10:30 AM. She will be interred at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery at a later date.
