Marla M. Heppner

Marla Marie Heppner, 55 of Gaylord, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Toledo, OH on January 3, 1961, Marla was the daughter of Michael L and Janice M. (Burgeson) Pakosz.  Marla grew up in Pinconning and was a 1979 graduate of Pinconning High School.

In the early 1990’s Marla moved to Gaylord where she operated Cuddlin’ Cubs Daycare for more than 20 years.  She was a member of Gaylord First United Methodist Church, she enjoyed hunting, camping and loved going on cruises with her family.  Marla was a prankster and she will be remembered for her sense of humor.  She loved spending time with her family and she loved going out for crab legs.

Marla is survived by her husband, Dan Heppner, whom she married in Gaylord in 1997.  Also surviving are daughters, Sarah Kartes of Pinconning and Brionna Heppner of Gaylord; her parents, Michael and Janice Pakosz of Prescott, MI; sisters, Michele (Keith) Rogers and Lisa (Chris) Murawski all of Standish; her mother-in-law, Aloma (Larry) Underwood of Mt. Forest; sisters-in-law, Amanda (Jay) Carney of Gaylord, Mary (Neil) Wilkinson of Gaylord and Louanna (Tim) VanOchten of Mt. Forest; a brother-in-law, Robert C. Heppner of Pinconning and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Tina Eilf and her father-in-law, Robert Heppner.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Gaylord First United Methodist Church where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family.
