Marion T. Dreffs

Marion T. Dreffs, 88 of Gaylord, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Alpena.

Born on April 26, 1929 in Petoskey, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mildred Daniels.

On June 29, 1957, Marion was married at St. Mary Church in Gaylord to Bernard “Ben” Dreffs.  They lived in Gaylord where they raised one son, Michael.  Ben preceded Marion in death on December 25, 2004.

Marion had worked at Wickes Lumber and Papa’s Bakery.  She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and the Altar Rosary Society.

Surviving are her son, Michael (Penny) of Alpena; brothers, Frank and John Daniels both of Petoskey; many nieces and nephews; her extended Alpena family, Kevin Bishop, Peggy Sleeper and Bruce & Patty Goldamer; her grandkids, Kaitlyn Noiles and Nasim Fayad; and her fur buddy, Harley.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Katie and Mary Jo and a brother, Joseph.

Marion’s family will visit with friends from 4:00-8:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2017 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where the St. Mary Altar Rosary Society will pray the Rosary with family and friends at 6:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at St. Mary Cathedral where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to her family.
