Marilynn E. Yager

Marilynn Esther Yager, 91 of Gaylord and formerly of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village. She was born in Ionia on June 12, 1924 to Dale and Rhea Hamilton. On June 1, 1946, she married Sylvester Yager and they enjoyed 62 years together.

Raising three boys kept Marilynn very busy, but she also worked at Bullock Creek High School. Between work and the boys athletic events, she always found time for her favorite hobby, reading. As a family they traveled to the Upper Peninsula each summer.

Marilynn is survived by her children; Larry (Sue) Yager, Randy (Kathy) Yager, Craig (Mary) Yager; grandchildren, Colin (Laurie) Yager, Kelly Yager, Jason Yager, Colleen (Chris) Worley, Chad (Bridget) Yager, Renee (Greg) DiCostanzo; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Curtis, Braedan, Claire, Luca and Gianna; her brother, Bryce (Joyce) Hamilton; and her sister-in-law, Donna Karczewski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Sylvester; her sisters, Marguerite Bloomer and Jeanne VanDyke.

Visitation will take place Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home with the service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or to Aspen Ridge Retirement Village.
