Maria Linn Burd

Maria Linn Burd, 48 of Vanderbilt, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey.

Born in Mt. Clemens on April 17, 1968, Maria was the daughter of Larry Glatz and Shirley (Vermeulen) Glatz Arnold.

The family moved to Kalkaska when Maria was a teenager and she graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1986.

On February 5, 2009 she married Randy Burd.  They moved from Kalkaska to Vanderbilt three years ago.

Maria had worked at Coating Products in Kalkaska and at Turtle Creek Casino.  She had last worked at H&H Tube in Vanderbilt prior to her illness.

Maria enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, and collecting teddy bears.  She was a fan of NASCAR and Detroit Lions football.

She is survived by her husband, Randy; their children, Bobbie Jo Meadows of Mancelona, Carmen (Andrew) Long of St. Ignace, Amber Wiles of Mancelona, Hope Burd of North Dakota and Randi Burd of Gaylord; her mom, Shirley Arnold of Algonac, her dad, Larry Glatz of Kalkaska; sisters, Dawn (Roy) Riddle of East Jordan, Tina Cartwright of Traverse City and Laura Glatz of Algonac; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 3:00-7:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2017 with a time of sharing at 6:00 PM.   Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family.
