Margie Goloweyco

Margie Goloweyco, 84 of Houghton Lake, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

Born in Detroit on January 17, 1932 she was the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle (Primer) Sypniewski.

On July 18, 1953, she married Stevie Goloweyco in Detroit. Margie was a loving, beautiful, kind and sweet wife, mother and grandmother. She found great pleasure and reward in caring for others. Even those to whom she was not related came to know her as “momma”. She was also an avid reader, and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Houghton Lake.

On September 12, 2009, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stevie. Surviving are her sons, Dennis (Nancy) and David (Susan) Goloweyco; daughters, Nancy Martin and Jackie Goloweyco; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Faye) Sydney and Jim Sypniewski and many nieces and nephews. Margie was also preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers and sisters.

The family will remember her at a graveside service to be held at Crestwood Cemetery in Roscommon in the spring.
