Margaret Tropea Carter, 94 of Wolverine, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. Born in Star City, West Virginia on September 22, 1921, Margaret was the daughter of Dominic and Minnie Tropea.
Margaret lived in Detroit for many years, then moved to Wolverine. She lived on a beautiful farm where she found great pride and joy. For several years, Margaret attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Vanderbilt. She was the last of her 11 siblings to pass away.
Surviving are her daughter and best friend, Marva Vance of West Wind Farm, Wolverine; her son, Clifford Million of Gaylord; grandchildren, Tracey Sloan of Petoskey, Tansy Sherman of Wolverine, Michelle Hager of Escanaba and Dominic Million of Woodstock, GA; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Vincent Sherman, Tyler, Trevor and Mackenna Hager and Anthony Million and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four spouses; her son, Patrick Vance; and 11 brothers and sisters, Jim, Julia, Betty, Rose, Mary, Anna, Virginia, Joseph, Sam, Helen and Leonard.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at West Wind Farm in Wolverine.
