Lynn A. "Boo" Greenshields

Lynn Alan “Boo” Greenshields, 61 of Gaylord, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Dickinson, North Dakota on November 26, 1957, he was the son of Lemore and Rosella (Fandrich) Greenshields.  Lynn grew up in Dodge, ND and graduated from high school in Richardton, ND.

Lynn was a cattle rancher with his brother, Robert on the Greenshields ranch in rural Dodge, ND for many years.  In 1994 he married the former Susan Tapio.  After leaving ranching, Lynn and Susan moved to Gaylord in 1998.

In Gaylord, Lynn first worked at Sears.  Later he worked as a carpenter and then a well driller..

An avid hunter, fisherman and golfer, Lynn really loved all sports.  No matter how busy he was he always willing to drop what he was doing to help others with their projects.  He’ll be remembered for his ability to engineer a solution to any problem.  Lynn also loved kids and was often known to teach his nieces and nephews the value of a good prank.  He was also a member of Gaylord Area Elks Lodge #2544 and the Knights of Columbus.

Lynn is survived by Susan, his wife of almost 25 years; a step daughter, Kelly Beebe of Gaylord; a step granddaughter, Sydney Borowiak of Miami, FL; his brother, Robert (Marilyn) Greenshields of Dodge, ND; sisters, Suzanne (Mark) Rummel and Roberta Fandrich, both of Richardton, ND, Carol (Claude) Wilmes of Bismarck, ND, Carmen (Richard) Sheldon of Menoken, ND, Diane (Terry) Friedt of Mott, ND, Patricia Greenshields of Fargo, ND, Marilyn (Neal) Wilmes of Golden Valley, ND and Stacey (Russ Kinzler) Rebel of Hebron, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Emil Fandrich; and a nephew, Mark Fandrich.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where the family will visit with friends beginning at 11:00 AM.

A memorial service will also be held at 3:00 PM Monday, September 2, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Richardton, North Dakota.
