Lovada Darlene Smolarz

Lovada Darlene Smolarz, 59 of Gaylord, died at home on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 with her family by her side. Born on April 10, 1953 to Andrew and Argie (Brown) Shelton, Darlene was raised in Artemus, KY. On July 31, 1971 Darlene married Albert Smolarz in Dearborn. She worked for nearly 25 years as a certified nurse aide at McReynolds Hall. Darlene enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading and quilting. She loved all animals. She is survived by her husband, Albert; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Jeff Lauber of Gaylord; a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Dayna Smolarz of Gaylord; grandchildren Mark, Stephanie, Jack, Christina and Jayde and a brother, Kenneth Shelton of Artemus, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert, Charlie, Andy Ray, Vincent, Glenn and Dennis Shelton. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Friday at Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Ave where the family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday.
